Terms of use
Last updated 7 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Markwise when you use the app. By creating an account you agree to them.
Markwise is operated in the United Kingdom. Contact: alfieinka14@gmail.com.
Who can use Markwise
You need to be 13 or over. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to approve a paid subscription and use a payment method you have permission to use. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens on your account.
What Markwise is, and isn't
- AI marks are estimates. Markwise marks your answers against the official mark scheme, but it can get marks wrong, especially on long or handwritten answers. Grades come from the exam board's published grade boundaries for that paper and are a guide, not a prediction of your real result. Check anything important with your teacher.
- We're not an exam board. Markwise isn't made by, linked to or endorsed by AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, WJEC Eduqas, CCEA or any other board. Past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports belong to the boards; we link to them on the boards' own websites and don't host copies.
Using it fairly
Please don't:
- upload anything that isn't your own answers, or anything offensive or illegal;
- pick a username that's offensive or pretends to be someone else;
- try to fake marks, XP or streaks, break the app, or get at other people's data;
- copy or resell Markwise's marking or content.
We may remove usernames, suspend accounts or delete accounts that break these rules.
Pro
Pro costs £9.99/month or £69.99/year and includes your full revision plan and 60 AI credits per calendar month. Free includes one priority topic and 6 credits. A paper uses 3 credits, a personal lesson uses 1. Paper marking also has a daily limit of 1 on Free or 5 on Pro. Credits reset on the first of the month, do not roll over and have no cash value. Failed AI tasks do not use credits. Saved feedback and lessons remain available without another AI charge.
Subscriptions renew monthly or yearly, depending on your chosen plan, until cancelled through the billing portal. Your selected price, billing interval and total are shown before you pay. Pro starts when Stripe confirms payment. Any future price change will be notified before it applies to a renewal, and you can cancel before then. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. If a payment fails, Pro access stops until payment is resolved. Revision lessons are AI-generated practice and may contain errors. Review dates reflect your self-assessment, not measured mastery. External resources have their own terms and may include paid content.
See the refunds and cancellation policy for cooling-off rights, refund requests and how to stop renewal. You can contact support if you cannot use the billing portal. We do not remove your statutory rights because you have used the app.
Your account and content
Your answers stay yours. You let us use them to mark your papers, prepare requested revision lessons and run your account (see the privacy policy). You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings. Account deletion immediately cancels an existing subscription and removes access; it does not automatically refund previous payments.
When things go wrong
We work hard to keep Markwise running and accurate, but it's provided as it is and may sometimes be unavailable or make mistakes. We aren't responsible for exam results or decisions made from Markwise's marks. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK consumer law.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app first. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. This does not remove mandatory consumer protections or your right to bring a claim in the courts available to you under applicable law. Questions? Use the support page.
